The Oakland Raiders are searching for enthusiastic and talented candidates for their renowned public relations and entertainment team - The Raiderettes. Become a part of the prestigious Oakland Raiders by auditioning for the 2017 Oakland Raiderettes Professional Cheerleading Squad.

Dates, Times & Location

  • Preliminary Audition: Saturday, April 1, 2017
  • Location: The Raiders Facility, Alameda, California
  • There will be two time slots for check-in (8:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.). Your designated time slot will be provided to you via email after you complete online registration.
  • Check-in is followed by an individual photo and preliminary interview.
  • There is no dance audition during preliminaries.
  • Recommended attire for preliminaries is casual clothing or conservative athletic attire.
  • Auditions are closed to the general public.
  • Finalists will be posted to Raiders.com/raiderettes following preliminary auditions on April 3, 2017.

  • Final audition: Saturday, April 8, 2017
  • Location: The Raiders Facility, Alameda, California
  • Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. for all finalists followed by an individual photo, interview and dance routine.
  • You will be assigned a NEW finalist number. If you are late, you could miss your audition group if you have a low number.
  • Recommended attire for the finals interview is cocktail or formal attire.
  • Recommended attire for the dance routine is athletic attire, appropriate workout outfit, or dance attire.
  • Auditions are closed to the general public.
  • Team members will be announced following auditions, April 8, 2017.
  • Please arrive wearing your cocktail or formal attire. You will have your picture taken before going in for your interview. Once you have completed the interview portion you may change from your interview attire to your dance attire for the dance portion of the finals.


  • You must be 18 years of age or older by date of preliminary audition.
  • You must be available to attend all home games, rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m., rehearsals Saturday mornings from 7:30-10:30 a.m. and special appearances throughout the season.
  • You must be able to attend a full day Saturday mini-camp. Date and time TBD.
  • You may not cheer for The Oakland Raiders and another professional or college team while being a member of the Raiderettes.


  • Auditions include an evaluation of dance ability, professional appearance, and public speaking. Be prepared to share your enthusiasm and showcase your personality.
  • Dance experience is not necessary, but preferred. A basic knowledge of dance will be beneficial as terms such as pirouette, chasse, passe etc. are used frequently throughout rehearsals. Various styles of dance are used by the Raiderettes.
  • A link will be sent to all finalists on Monday, April 3, 2017. The link will include a video demonstration of the dance routine that must be performed by all selected finalists during final auditions on Saturday, April 8, 2017. The routine will also be demonstrated by the Raiderette choreographer prior to the dance portion of final auditions.


  • A panel of judges will select the 2017 Raiderette squad.
  • Judging is based on poise, personality, appearance, talent, and dance ability.


  • Perform before sold-out home game crowds.
  • Opportunities for exposure through various media, corporate, community and charity events.
  • Opportunities for travel.
  • Represent the iconic Raiders brand.


  • Employment as a Raiderette is part-time, less than 30 hours per week. Raiderettes are paid minimum wage for all game days, appearances, rehearsals and events as well as any applicable overtime.
  • You must pre-register for participation in the audition process.
Audition Information FAQ

Q: The description says athletic and/or casual attire but I see photos including cocktail and business attire - which is expected?

Athletic or casual attire is acceptable for preliminary auditions. Cocktail or formal attire is expected for final auditions.

Q: I am being dropped off, can my driver wait in the building or in the parking lot?

It is necessary to have reliable transportation for this position. Guests will not be permitted to wait in the building or parking lot.

Q: Is there a fee for parking?

There is no fee to park.

Q: Where do I submit my headshot? Should I bring one with me to auditions?

A headshot is not necessary. A photograph will be taken of you at auditions.

Q: Will food and water be available to me during the audition?

Light snacks and water will be provided. You may bring your own snacks if you deem necessary.

Q: Can I bring a make-up artist or hair stylist with me in to the building?

Only those auditioning will be permitted in to the building. All hair styling and make-up should be completed prior to arrival.

Q: Do you offer preparation classes for auditions?

No formal preparation classes are available. Auditions include an evaluation of dance ability, professional appearance, and public speaking.

Q: How will finalists be announced on the website?

All finalists will be announced by their preliminary number, which will be posted to the Raiders.com/raiderettes.
